How to get to Santa Cruz de Mompox
Current practical guidance for reaching Mompox by road or air and finding the correct S&J location when you arrive.
By road
Santa Cruz de Mompox is connected by road through the Transversal Momposina. The national corridor includes Puerta de Hierro–Magangué–Yatí–La Bodega–Mompox.
The Yatí–La Bodega connection crosses the Magdalena River through the Santa Lucía and Roncador bridges, so a ferry is not the normal mandatory crossing for this route. Roadworks, traffic and restrictions can still change, so check your live route before travelling.
Flying part of the journey
Mompox has its own airport: San Bernardo Airport (MMP). SATENA currently publishes a Medellín–Mompox route from Olaya Herrera Airport.
Flight days and schedules can change, so confirm the current timetable directly with the airline before purchasing.
When you arrive in Mompox
S&J has two public locations. Your confirmation identifies the accommodation and address that apply to your stay, so you can navigate directly to the correct property.
If you have a late arrival, remember that normal check-in is between 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Contact us in advance if your transport schedule may place you outside that period.
